*No School Monday, February 8 and 15.

* Thank you Kindergarten and First Grade staff for the amazing grade level performances over the past few weeks!  These performances not only allowed every student to shine, California grade level standards in language arts and social studies were mastered!     

* Kindergarten Registration will begin February 16.  Packets may be picked up from the front office from 7:30am-3:30pm.  Oakhill's Kindergarten Readiness Night will be on Thursday, March 11 at 7pm.  Please come to meet the principal and teachers and to find out more about our amazing program.

*Thank you to parents who attended the State of the District meeting last week.  We hope to continue to work together we can make a difference for our school!  Please consider donating through the ESF Annual Giving Campaign , which helps support Oakhills library, technology department, and allows us to offer Spanish on campus after school.

*Has your child shared about the classroom art project they are creating?  Ask them more about this!  Interested in bidding for the project?  Plan on attending the ESF Art Auction and Music Exhibition at Bayside Church on February 19 from 5-8pm.  This family friendly event celebrates enrichment and the arts-a core mission of ESF.

* Oakhills is an Honor Roll School!   The California Business for Education Excellence (CBEE) has named Oakhills School as an Education Excellence Honor Roll School for 2009. Scholar Schools are those showing significant academic achievement levels (Oakhill's API grew from 903 to 923 in 2009)! Thank you to all of our staff, students and parents; you have all contributed to our success! 

*Ever wonder what teachers do at 1:15 every Monday? Grade level and school based teams collaborate!   Topics include curriculum planning, analyzing student performance data, and learning more about the new instructional technology we are using in our classrooms this year.
