Our goal in the Eureka USD is to encourage good health habits with our staff, students and families in order to foster good health and help prevent the spread of communicable diseases. Diseases, such as influenza, pertussis (whooping cough), enterovirus- D68, and Ebola have been featured in the news media recently.

The Eureka USD Health Services and administrative team, in collaboration with Placer County Health and Human Services and the Placer County Office of Education, will continue to monitor current information about these health issues and follow guidelines provided by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control). Please review the helpful information from Placer County Health and Human Services in the following attachment. Thank you very much for your cooperation in keeping our schools healthy places to learn.

Public Health Communicable Disease Messages for Schools and Parents

We received a message about 10:40am this morning that a burglary was in progress in the neighborhood across the street from GBHS and that the burglar was on foot.As a safety precaution, OH and RV immediately commenced a Shelter in Place (a lockdown). Within approximately 10 minutes of notification, the suspect was in custody and our Shelter in Place was concluded. Everyone on campus responded quickly and appropriately to insure the safety of all.  Classes resumed business as usual with minimal disruption to the school day.
